Ashley Drewes is a native of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School and went to college in the business field, majoring in Marketing and Professional Sales as well as Business Management/Ownership.
Ashley has worked at the Detroit Lakes Newspaper since 2006 in the Advertising department. Her job duties vary day-by-day, but mainly consist of working with national clients (like Menards, CVS, JC Penney, etc.) on their monthly advertising plan, servicing local clients on their advertising needs, building our online and email marketing efforts and creating, promoting and scheduling innovative newspaper promotions and special publications to increase our client’s bottom line.
In addition to Ashley's regular career at the newspaper, she and her husband opened a dock and lift business about 3 years ago called At Ease Dock & Lift. They sell new and used docks and lifts, install, remove and winterize boats and pontoons. They also offer storage for all marine equipment and repair all brands of docks and lifts. Our main manufacturer is Pier Pleasure. They make dock systems that can be put in and taken out with one person, without getting wet. This is a pretty big deal in the world of docks. They also sell a floating dock system called EZ Dock that is used all over the world. In most applications, EZ Dock does not have to be removed before freeze-up in the fall. They are the only dock and lift company in the area that sells this type of product.
Ashley's family consists of her husband, John and dog Captain. Her mom, Karen and step-dad Kevin still live in Detroit Lakes. Her biological dad passed away in 1997 at the age of 40. Her brother, Ryan is currently at basic training with the National Guard in Georgia. She also has a half-sister named Bre and a step-sister also named Ashley.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys running, hiking, kayaking, going for walks with her dog, camping and all the fun lake activities that go along with living in the land of 10,000 (or more) lakes.
